When was the last time you a SMART car (Mercedes-Benz signature electric car) drove past you and had you saying to yourself, “dude, that is one hot car!” – not likely. If you’re like me, instead you probably said, “hmmm, not bad, I could probably fit into some tight parking spots downtown and save some money on gas”. Yesterday, Tesla Motors (San Carlos, CA), announced that Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) bought 10% of its company; making Daimler part of one of the world’s leading electric vehicle companies. Tesla Motors Inc. makes electric vehicles with exceptional design, performance and efficiency, while conforming to all North American and European safety, environmental and durability standards. The Roadster has a 0-to-60 mph acceleration of 3.9 seconds yet is more energy efficient than a Toyota Prius. Tesla expects to begin producing the all-electric, zero-emission Model S sedan in late 2011.
