YouTube Resizes Video Player for HD

Visit www.youtube.com lately? notice anything different? That’s right, YouTube has changed their video player and made it wider to playback HD video. If you’ve been keeping up with the changes and growth in video sharing websites lately, you would have come accross a new network, Vimeo. Vimeo is a new video sharing network that promotes their content as, “the best HD video on the web”.

I’ve been looking at the new lines of HD camcorders; its where everything is going now and what everyone like YouTube is adapting to. Its just a matter of time that Vimeo wont have that nice niche theyve created for themselves.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts about video sharing and video distribution; they’re a great way to promote content on Google because Google ranks video on its first page results - You should look into it

Ask.com Staying in Search Engine Market

Last week, several articles were posted on the web (including mine) about Ask.com. These posts stated that Ask.com was leaving the search engine market and were repositioning that portion of the business to be an engine focussed around delivering content for women.

An ask.com representative today announced that Ask.com will be staying in the search engine market and will continue to provide search engine marketing services for their clients. Ask.com Repositioning Search Strategy

As announced on March 05, 2008 by the Associated Press, Ask.com is scaling back in their makeover efforts to outshine the Internet search leader, Google Inc., and will be leaving the search engine market.

Their new focus will target a market consisting of married women looking for help managing their lives.

I saw Ask.com’s results jump itself as the Internet’s fifth largest search engine in the US.

Stage6 Shuts Down DivX Movies

Watching new movies online is great. Sure, it may not even be great quality. Just the fact that its free maybe worth tolerating the pixelized environment for a couple of hours.

Some of the sites that I watch movies on are, 66stage.com, movie6.net and tudou.com. There are more of course; they are just a few. Unlike, YouTube, some of these websites actually don’t host any of the movies. All of the “free” movies you get to watch are uploaded to and hosted on sites such as Google Movies, Veoh, and of course Stage6.com.

Twitter Vision - Mapping Twitters Around The World!

Today, I started my day checking web analytics results and monitoring online PR for myself and other websites I own.

YouTube Active Sharing - Revealing Videos You Watch

YouTube is excited about its active sharing feature that lets YouTube watchers signal to other viewers when they are watching a particular video (if you turn the setting on, anyone watching the video at the same time as you will see your username on the right side of the screen). When you start ActiveSharing, your username will appear to other users on the videos you watch. A list of videos you’ve recently watched will also appear on your profile page.

This reminds me of the javascript code snippets that anyone can insert in their blog code to show every visitor on your site who visited your site from Blogging communities such as MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog.
