If you’re in e-commerce and realize how challenging it can be to rank your products higher in Google Shopping results, this is something you’ll like to know about. It was just last Thursday that I looked at Google Shopping results (.com) and saw the usual product listing style; each product listing having its own thumbnail on the left, description in the center and price on the right. Here’s a screenshot I took last Thursday for a report I had to do at work:

Today, I was search-testing the same product and discovered the search engine results page appeared differently, since typically, it shows 3 product listings and simply one listing stating “62 sellers for this product” – what I’m used to seeing as an amazon listing. Is Google changing the way it displays its shopping results? Its the first time I’ve noticed Google products being displayed this way.

Is this beta testing? If you repeat the search in google, the product listing section will toggle between the 2 listings. Maybe I didn’t get the memo, or Google is A/B testing interaction. Either way, let me know in your comments below. thanks.
