A little while ago, I read How Much Did You Make From Adsense Last Month – Poll of the Week on problogger.net. Of the 63 comments (and counting), only 10% of them said they were making over $10,000 per month, 25% of them were in the several hundred dollar range and the rest were making less than $100 per month.
Last month, I finally broke my record of $55 per month with Google Adsense and made $67! so averaging just over $2 per day. I do make more money on selling ad slots, but I'll leave that for another day.
I believe that Blogging + Google Adsense has revolutionized the web. The other day I was telling one of my friends the history of the Internet; more specifically about the evolution of modern day blogging. Before WordPress, Blogger and TypePad, bloggers were limited to blogging on sites such as LiveJournal and blogging within older social networking sites such as in Friendster. Bloggers made the social platforms money. This has changed; Bloggers make money.
The formula:
Create a blog around a specific niche
Add adsense
Write several posts a week
Get feed subscribers
Dont give up
This formula has allowed thousands of bloggers around the world to be able to quit their day job and blog full time like, Amit Agarwal of Labnol.org (watch his CNN interview below)

Hey,
Nice post – quite enjoyable to read.
I have yet to use AdSense, but I am currently working on a new blog site. Seems like a useful thing to add!
