Eloqua: How to Add JavaScript to Eloqua Landing Pages

Despite Eloqua’s strict nature with form handling among other features, it is actually straight forward to add JavaScript to any of your landing pages.

After working in both SiteCore and Eloqua for an enterprise solution, it was quite easy to fall in to the proprietary mindset and I’ll admit it seemed like adding JavaScript was going to be impossible. However, the process is the same as adding javascript to any website; writing your code within <script> tags.

Example JavaScript You Want to Add:

How & Where to Add in Your Eloqua Landing Page:

  1. Go to your landing page editor.
  2. Go into Edit HTML mode
  3. Add JavaScript above the </head> and ensure it is enclosed within <script></script> tags.
  4. Test your landing page.

Eloqua does add a few comments, but doesnt touch your code at all.

One thing to note as I recently discovered, I had two forms within one page; the first part was a calculator and the second form was an email form to submit the results to customer service. What I found was the form submission component didn’t work anymore and has required additional troubleshooting.
